Sadio Mane is a fantastic footballer – we all know that – but he is also, as Brendan Rodgers might say, a brilliant human being.
While he’s still away following his exertions for Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations, Mane has visited a school in the village in which he grew up that he is currently funding.
He also gives money to the families of people in the village who might need it, and just to see him turn up there must have been amazing the people there.
Sadio Mane could be anywhere in the world on holiday after a long season…

Footballers often get a lot of stick for what they up to in their spare time, but when someone does something like this, it deserves to be highlighted. Mane didn’t have to go out of his way to fund and visit the school, but he did so anyway.
Mane will join up with the squad again after the Community Shield next weekend, before he starts his pre-season right before the first league match of 2019/20.
