A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their disgust at the racist abuse levelled at Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.
Pogba was targeted by online trolls after missing a penalty in United’s 1-1 draw with Wolves on Monday night.
There are increasing calls from fans, players and clubs for social media platforms to take action as the disturbing trend continues.
Last week, Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham faced abuse after Adrian saved his penalty in the UEFA Super Cup.
The response of many our supporters emphasises that the issue is far more significant than any footballing rivalry.
Expressing your outrage can only increase the pressure for meaningful prohibitive measures.
I stand with @paulpogba and say No to Racism. Please call out any and all racists posts you see on this platform. To be silent is to say you accept it.

Fking disgusting. Pogba is a world clsss player and he’s getting racial abuse for just missing one penalty. Even Messi misses penalties. Leave the man alone.

I don’t like man united as much as the next one, tbh I can’t really stand Pogba either. But the Racism is way too far!
Too many people hiding behind AVI’S and not been called out for it. It’s a joke. Funny thing is not one of them would say anything to anyone’s face.

What is so sad is that my 17 year old ( we are all LFC fans) said oh no and was upset when the penalty didn’t go in… I said why are you so upset? He said because pogba will now get loads of racial abuse and it really upsets me.i was shocked but proud of my boy
