Liverpool went right down to the wire with Manchester City last season, with the Reds finishing just one point behind their title rivals.
Jurgen Klopp has demanded even more from his squad this season, as he prepares them for another gruelling battle with the Citizens.
The Reds have a slight advantage thus far, as City have dropped points against Tottenham Hotspur, but Liverpool have won both of their games.
Mohamed Salah has recently done a lengthy interview with CNN. In this chat, he revealed Klopp’s rallying warcry to the squad.
“Keep working hard and if you want to win another thing you have to work harder than maybe did in the last season and you have to really be humble, and okay, Champions League is over,” he said.
“It was last year, so forget it. Fight for the new trophies again this season.”
While we’ll be forever thankful to Klopp and the squad for bringing us number six – the boss is right; it was last season and we need to go again.
Klopp banned the players from touching the famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign at the stadium until they won a trophy, and they were finally able to after triumph in Madrid.
Hopefully it’s this kind of attitude that the manager has drilled into the players that’ll see us win even more silverware.
