Newcastle could be without 7 first team players at Anfield – LFC v. NUFC PL match preview

Posted by

Liverpool host Newcastle in an early kick-off in the Premier League this weekend, at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

A win for the Reds would see them stay at the top of the table come the end of the weekend, with title rivals Manchester City travelling to Norwich City.

Three points are likely for the Cityzens so Jurgen Klopp’s men will need to make sure a win at home this weekend to keep the pressure on early this season.

Team News

Alisson, Naby Keita and Nathaniel Clyne remain the only Liverpool players unavailable for selection on Saturday, as per their long-term injuries.

Newcastle are a tad less fortunate as the Geordies will potentially be without seven first-team players in Andy Carroll, Matt Ritchie, Allan Saint-Maximin, DeAndre Yedlin, Sean Longstaff, Dwight Gayle and Florian Lejeune.

This may be seen as an advantage for the Reds, as Steve Bruce will be unable to call upon several of his usual starting XI.

Prediction

No team should be taken lightly in the Premier League, even if Liverpool have an incredible record at Anfield over the last two years.

Like with many teams in our division, one of their biggest g1ames of the season is their big visit to Merseyside, and they’ll be desperate to escape with a point – or three!

Newcastle are no different, and have several talented players, but are likely to be overpowered by a superior side at Anfield this weekend.

With that being said, I think the score-line come the final whistle will be Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle.
