For Marcelo to be selected ahead of Robertson, given the seasons the pair had, is remarkable, while both Mane and Salah should be in there before Cristiano Ronaldo and perhaps Kylian Mbappe, too, given PSG’s performance in the Champions League.

It’s a great honour for the Reds to have two players in the line-up and shows how well the club is doing, but equally, it is is pretty much a popularity contest in some positions.
