KI-Jana Hoever scored his first Liverpool goal with a bullet header last night, confirming our 2-0 victory over MK Dons in the EFL Cup.
The young Dutchman was one of many bright young sparks, as Jurgen Klopp decided to select a completely rotated XI from his usual Premier League side – all of which didn’t even make the journey south.
Hoever though looked like a player capable of genuine first-team minutes quite soon.
He’s technically excellent, has Trent-like physicality and perhaps most importantly – clearly believes totally in his own ability.
Perhaps there’ll be a future when Hoever and Trent are working in tandem down that right-hand side, with the teenager at right-back and the Scouser on the right of our midfield three.
But for now, we’re only concerned about Hoever’s development. This performance though proves he must keep his spot in the side for the 4th Round tie v Arsenal.
