Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has joked that he’d rather win eight matches 1-0 than win one fixture 8-0, surely putting a bit a pressure on Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City are up against Everton this weekend, and while it is usually a tough fixture for most of the Premier League, the Citizens seem to always do well against our bitter rivals.
Our title rivals blew away Watford 8-0 last weekend, but Klopp has taken a moment to appreciate the importance of grinding out ugly 1-0 wins away from home.
“Eight times 1-0 is more important than one times 8-0 but if you give me a guarantee for it, I take the next eight games,” he’s quoted as saying by Team Talk.
“We are very critical for ourselves. I said before, is it allowed that Sheffield United fight more than us? No it isn’t. Is it allowed they run more? No. We can play better. I don’t think we had an off-day.”

The Reds struggled to break down Sheffield United all the way over the weekend, but thanks to a stroke of luck, Gini Wijnaldum eventually broke the dead-lock.
Liverpool now extend their unbeaten run to 16 in the Premier League, as Klopp closes in on the record of 18 currently held by City.
