When Liverpool fans can expect Alisson to return from injury

Alisson is set to resume first team training over the weekend for Liverpool, as the Brazilian steps up his recovery from an injury sustained on the opening day of the Premier League.

Adrian has performed as well as could have been expected, and has proved himself to be a more than worthy number two at Anfield.

But the Reds will welcome the return of Alisson with open arms. His latest step to recovery means that it won’t be long until we see him back between the sticks.

As is the case with these things though, it’s hard to pin down exactly when the Brazilian will return for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to want to rush Ali back into the team, as he may get injured again if he’s not 100% ready.

Our No.1 is agonisingly close to returning, but he’ll only do so when Klopp feels it’s right, and the boss won’t care if that means he misses a big game.

Taking everything into account, I don’t think Ali will be back for our Champions League fixture against Red Bull Salzburg, but he’ll be close.

My head tells me that he’ll start the Leicester game on the 5th, but given Adrian’s form, I don’t think Klopp will rush the Brazilian’s return.

I’d argue that Alisson will return for Liverpool as the Reds take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on the 20th of October.

Timely, if you ask me.
