Murphy claims Klopp will be worried by LFC’s “bad” performance in recent weeks

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has suggested that Jurgen Klopp will be worried by the Reds’ performances of late.

Liverpool manage to scrape a gritty 1-0 win against Sheffield United over the weekend as they made is seven wins from the same numbers of games.

But the former midfielder thinks that the boss will be concerned, as the Reds haven’t performed as well as they could’ve lately.

He will be a bit concerned. I’m all for them winning ugly, but the overall performance in recent weeks will be concerning, because a performance, if it is bad, will generally get punished,he told TalkSPORT.

You play sometimes in a comfort zone; you’re playing Sheffield United away and you start the game a bit lackadaisical. You can’t keep doing that and getting away with it.

The mindset has to be a bit better and sharper from Liverpool, because they have got away with it in recent weeks.

While it’s easy to scoff and say ‘yeah, but we’ve won every game’, Murphy does have a point – we haven’t played as well as we can of late.

That being said, we play with such an intensity that it’s hard to keep up that level every week. The 2-0 loss to Napoli doesn’t show what happened on the pitch either.

Whichever side of the coin you find yourself on, let’s hope we make RB Salzburg pay in the Champions League to lift any dampened spirits at Anfield.
