Four Liverpool players called up to the England squad for EURO 2020 qualifiers

Four Liverpool players have been selected by Gareth Southgate to represent England against Montenegro and Kosovo this month.

Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all been called up, which will come as a massive boost to two of our Reds.

Gomez hasn’t been in the best of form since the start of the season, but Southgate’s continued faith in the young defender may give him the spark he needs.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, however, has been in the form of his life – scoring in three games of late, and looking like an absolute offensive monster in Liverpool’s midfield.

The call up to England will be the cherry on the cake for the Ox as he continued to get his career back on track after a lengthy injury.

The Three Lions know that they can secure their place at next summer’s UEFA EURO 2020 Finals with a point, and they have a chance to do that in front of a Wembley crowd when Montenegro are the visitors for what will be England’s 1000th men’s senior international.

After that, it’s a first-ever game for the Three Lions in Pristina as Kosovo host Southgate’s squad on Sunday the 17th November, the return match of what was a thrilling encounter in Southampton in September.

For the Montenegro game, to mark the occasion of England’s 1000th game, the team will bear their own unique England legacy number on their shirt and if you’re interested Hendo is #1170, Ox is #1181, Gomez is #1228 and Trent is #1233.
