Naby Keita stole the against Red Bull Salzburg, but Liverpool had plenty top performers on the night, and Alisson is certainly up there.
But we shouldn’t be surprised – he has form on that one. His last four “must win” games for the Reds (Napoli, Barcelona, Spurs and Salzburg) have shown us why he’s the best in the business.

• Saved 23 of 23 shots
• 15 saves from shots inside the box
• 4 big chances saved pic.twitter.com/IViUFadfnU— El Mans (@el_mansfield) December 10, 2019
The man has saved every single shot he’s faced in those games – 23 out of 23 – and over half of those have been inside the penalty area.
We discovered last season just how impossible Alisson is to score on from outside the area, with only Red Star Belgrade’s Milan Pavkov and Lionel Messi being able to do it.
With form like that, it’s not hard to imagine why he ended up winning the the inaugural France Football Yachine Trophy and being named the best goalkeeper in the world

On his form in the Champions League – it’s not as if he’s been asked to make routine saves either. Against Napoli last season, Arkadiusz Milik was one-on-one with the Brazilian, but Ali somehow kept it out.
And again last night against Salzburg – he pulled off a brilliant double save to keep us level early on.
