Liverpool will compile dossier on Daniel Sturridge’s injury

English forward out until Christmas at least…

Liverpool are currently compiling a dossier on Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems, after the 25-year-old aggravated his thigh muscle tear yet again, Chris Bascombe writes in the Telegraph.

The Reds are desperate to find and fix the cause of Sturridge’s chronic thigh injuries, which have decimated his and our season so far.

He hasn’t played for over ten weeks, and is now set for a further six week lay off after suffering yet another tear on Monday, less than a week before his scheduled return.

“That’s his ninth injury on that thigh from previous clubs and here. So there is an issue there somewhere,” Rodgers said.

“It’s something that the medical team are looking into. This shows a slight tear just below where he had a previous injury. Obviously it was in a session and quite an innocuous action, he did it when he just flicked the ball. But obviously he felt the pain and then when the medical team told me the next day after the scan it was disappointing.”

Rodgers will hold a meeting with the forward to plan his rehab, but also try and create a training strategy to make sure the chances of this happening again are minimised.
