Raheem Sterling tweets support of Liverpool teammate in FIFA 16 cover vote

Raheem Sterling has made a very late show of support for Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson in the race to be the Premier League representative on the new FIFA 16 cover, alongside Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

While many other members of the Reds squad have long since used their social media channels to back our future captain, Sterling had remained silent until late on Sunday afternoon, just hours before the vote closed.

Intriguingly, the England international could have voted for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero – who could soon become his teammate, if rumours in The Independent are to be believed – but stayed loyal to Henderson.

Of course, it would have been politically incorrect for him to have voted for a City star while he was still a Liverpool player, but we wouldn’t have been at all surprised if the 20-year-old had refrained from getting involved – particularly when every tweet he does send is met with a volley of abuse from fans.
