You know you’ve had a good career when the likes of Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard sing your praises upon retirement…

At just 31 though, Agger decided that injuries had got the better of him and he can no longer player at the highest level.
Four of his greatest former team-mates – including Jamie Carragher and Luis Garcia – took to social media to congratulate Agger and wish him well for the future.
For us, his ex-captain Gerrard hit the nail on the head:
“What a player this man was. Calm, composed and quality on the ball.. All the best with your future mate. It was a pleasure to play in the same team as you,” he said
Says it all.
You can be proud Daniel !! All the best for the future. https://t.co/1yPWGfNWT0
