Two young Reds called up for England U19s – but Sheyi Ojo misses out

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Herbie Kane have both been called up to the England U19 squad.

The two rising stars have both represented their country at U17 level, but this is the first time they will participate in this age bracket. (Echo)

England will play two games – against The Netherlands in Telford on Thursday 1st September then against Belgium in Brussels on Sunday 4th.

Both games are friendly games – the Euro qualifiers do not start until November.

Unfortunately. there was no place in the squad for Sheyi Ojo. Ojo played with the team in the summer’s Euros but is currently our injured with a fractured back. He is expected back in mid-September.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a Liverpool local lad who can play in midfield or at right-back. He caught Klopp’s attention during the pre-season after a series of mature performances.

Herbie Kane is a midfielder. He was signed from Bristol City three years ago.
