Before ten minutes were up, Liverpool had taken the lead against Tottenham in tonight’s EFL Cup clash.
Playing very much a second string XI, Jurgen Klopp’s men started excellently, dominating possession at the back and forging an early chance after winning back the ball close to Spurs’ penalty area.
Trent Alexander-Arnold drove into the box, hit a speculative cross-come-shot and Daniel Sturridge was in the right place to tap home with a solid finish.
