This is a pretty jaw-dropping statistic!
Not since 1895/96 have Liverpool scored more goals in all competitions in our first 14 games of the season.
Including EFL Cup victories (there have been three so far), we’ve bagged 40 times, the best since the 48 we mustered 121 campaigns ago.
The Jurgen Klopp factor, Ladies & Gents!

So every single season in Liverpool’s modern history has been bettered in terms of goals scored at this point of the term… That’s all the 1970s sides, the 1980s ones and some of the better teams since the Premier League’s inception.
All without a recognised centre-forward, in the main!
Let’s keep it going after the international break, Reds. It’s Southampton away, before we host Sunderland at Anfield. Six points from those games would see us enter a tricky December top of the table, with the wind in our sails.
