Former Red could damage Liverpool’s chances of signing midfield target

Former Reds midfielder Nuri Sahin is set to be included in a deal to bring Liverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud to his current employers, Borussia Dortmund.

Dahoud is reportedly a main target for Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel, who wishes to bring in the Borussia Mönchengladbach man as a long term replacement for İlkay Gündoğan, according to BILD.

Jurgen Klopp is also a long term admirer of Dahoud and is also reportedly lining up a January move for the Syrian- born German.

BILD has suggested that Dortmund are planning on offering a combination of 15million euros and Sahin in exchange for Dahoud.

Sahin has been out of favour at Dortmund so far this season and has struggled to live up to the high expectations of him since his move to Real Madrid.

He endured a disappointing loan spell at Liverpool during the 2012/2013 season and returned to Dortmund half way through the season.

The 28-year-old could now follow up his lacklustre time at this club by playing a key role in stopping Klopp from signing one of his main transfer targets.
