We hope this is just precautionary, and that these four will be ok for the weekend trip to Bournemouth, but it’s worrying news nonetheless…
Especially considering we’re already without Coutinho and Danny Ings long-term.
Liverpool released the training snaps of Wednesday’a training session this morning and there was no sign of Joel Matip, Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino or Adam Lallana.
There’s been no news of an injury to our Cameroonian centre-back, who’s been an absolute rock recently at the heart of our defence. It’s crucial he starts, as we’re a much better side with him at the back.
Sturridge missed the weekend and the EFL Cup tie with a calf strain and looks unlikely to start on Sunday as well.
Firmino limped off against Sunderland, but Sky Sports report that he (and Matip) are likely to be ready for the trip south.
Lallana’s been out with a groin injury since the international break, but also has aspirations of a return at the weekend, where he’ll hope to face his former club. Our playmaker spent his youth at Bournemouth and had a short loan spell there too in 2007.
