Bad results always bring idiots out of the woodwork, but last night, a Grade-A fool called BBC Radio 5Live and said that he believes Liverpool should fire Jurgen Klopp.
A manager who got us to two finals last term and to a position this season where we’re still realistically in the Premier League title race. A manager who led us to our best ever first half (after 19 games) of the domestic Premier League season.
Still, this guy wants him gone and apparently replaced by Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone.
Has Klopp made mistakes? Yes. Should his future even be discussed in any way, shape or form? Absolutely not.
Here’s what the caller said, and you can listen below:
He’s not a trophy winning manager. He’s lost three finals with Dortmund, two with Liverpool.
He keeps playing minor players in FA Cup matches. We’ve lost in this semi-final, the club’s going backwards.
They’ve not brought in somebody to replace Mané at the African Cup of Nations. He has not sorted out his defence. He hasn’t replaced Mignolet or Karius in goal, they’re not good enough.
They have not won a Premier League match in January, they’re dropping from second to fourth. They’ll end up in the Europa League, at best, because Everton could overtake them the way Liverpool are going.
Liverpool is a club based on winning trophies. Jurgen Klopp is not a trophy winning manager and they need to replace him with Diego Simeone by next season.
“Jürgen Klopp has to go!”
We’re not sure this #LFC fan speaks for everyone.
