Lucas Leiva produced a rare piece of Brazilian magic on Thursday as he scored a superb goal in Lazio’s Europa League clash with Zulte-Waregem.
The former Liverpool man has seemingly thrived in Serie A since bringing an end to his decade-long spell at Anfield in exchange for a move to Italy.
Any goal from the midfielder is rightly cherished nowadays with Lucas having been anything but a prolific scorer during his time on Merseyside- bagging just seven times in 346 appearances for the club.
He displayed a goalscorer’s touch in his most recent outing, however, as he reacted quickly to backheel the ball home and subsequently draw Lazio level against their Belgian opponents.

The Kop favourite was unable to prevent defeat, though, with Lazio conceding an 83rd minute goal that saw the hosts run out 3-2 winners.
Nevertheless, Lucas’ side had little to worry about having already booked their place in the knockout stages.
A collector’s item inevitably exploded on the internet courtesy of Reds delighted to see their adopted Scouser continue to shine.
Having being such an admirable servant to Liverpool over the years, it comes as no surprise that fans remain so keen for him to succeed elsewhere.
