(Video) ‘Not really’ – Craig Bellamy admits he didn’t enjoy Liverpool career

Craig Bellamy was a boyhood Liverpool fan, as well as signing for the club on two occasions during his career and has now been speaking candidly about his time under Rafa Benitez.

Speaking on ‘The Overlap’ with Gary Neville, the Welshman was asked if he enjoyed his first spell at Anfield and said: “No, really didn’t, [it was] very rigid”.

It was an honest response from the 44-year-old and perhaps shows that dreams aren’t always what they’re hyped up to be.

Knowing that a return to Merseyside under Sir Kenny Dalglish scratched an itch for the current assistant manager at Burnley in 2011, means there was at least a happy ending to his story.
