The luck with the recent No. 7s has not been great recently, the last two players Harry Kewell and Robbie Keane came to Anfield with high hopes but unfortunately it did not work out for both of them.
When you wear a shirt that was worn by players such as Kevin Keegan, Peter Beardsley and of course Kenny Dalglish it is gives the arriving player a mountain to climb in order to fulfill the promise. I personally think it does not help them psychologically to be under such pressure.
So as a tribute to King Kenny let us retire the No. 7 shirt.
