I do not care how much money he makes but it is unacceptable how Lucas Leiva is treated by our fans including by one of our own writers.
Lucas might not be a Kaka or Zico but you got to give the kid credit for captaining Brazil’s U21 and being called up for the Brazilian national team.
As far as Liverpool are concerned Lucas has been a great servant of the club, he is always available (Never Injured) and over the last year has worked very hard to improve his game. He even buffed up over the Summer to handle the physical aspect of the Premier League. With Alonso gone he was Rafa’s best choice to fill in the midfield until Aquilani is ready to play.
That is why Lucas makes the starting 11.

Lucas has to go. He is not liverpool material, not even as a fringe squad member and there are no stats that will justify that he is a “great servant” to LFC.
You’re right. He makes the squad because we’ve got no-one else to turn to. I do feel for him, it’s not his fault he’s being picked. Still doesn’t stop him being rubbish though.

Liverpool supporters don´t turn their backs on geniune players who put blood and sweat into each game. Lucas has done nothing wrong and he is a very repsected and wanted player in Brazil. He has kept his head down and not gone on the radio or newspapers trying to argue his case and ask for understanding. How many of this other squad have done that, Babbel, Yossi (though I like him), Agger even Mascherano (needs to improve as well) these may have been only the tabloids exploiting these players word but they can´t find a thing on Lucas.
Anfield is a place that always supports players who deserve it and I have faith that the crowds recognise Lucas´s efforts and hope he can turn into a geniune leader after such criticism levleed at him.
