Season Horribilis

Posted by

Our misery continued tonight in Northern France as we lost to Lille 1-0 thanks to a goal in the last 10 minutes by Hazard.

Compared to last Monday’s performance against Wigan we were much better however something must be going on in the heads of Gerrard & Kuyt to name a few because they were pretty anonymous through out the game.

Wake me up from this nightmare.

  1. Last 2 games particularly have been amateurish. I don’t understand how professional who are PAID to put on their best can’t seem to get motivated. I am and continue to be a fan of Rafa, but maybe our players need someone else to kick their asses and remind them of the priviledge the have of playing for Liverpool.

    YNWA

  2. playing 2 strikers would be worth a try. rafa has to shoulder the flak- he gets paid handsome amounts to deal with it. people are writin comments as though the next arabs or wealthy folk that come in with an offer are going to be saviours- it’s fantasy land. things are poor but the yanks take a big part of the blame but not all. people think its fantasy football or a computer footie management game- they talk about money and transfer targets as though it’s going out of fashion. look at portsmouth- what price success? do we get priced out of our seats? rafa has to do an awful lot better with what he’s got- and what he’s got isnt always given a chance- what i’m saying is give the kids a chance. facebook is now a battleground betwen rafa lovers and haters. madness.

  3. We were awful – A total disgrace – Pathetic – A shambles. Seriously are we Liverpool Football Club or a bunch of middle of the road wannabes? Come on people surely we can do better. I reckon those fans that travelled would have shown more drive and commitment had they taken to the pitch than the team Rafa put out.

Change needs to happen and it needs to happen quickly. I don’t care who it is but can someone please tell Torres that he’s a world class striker and not a heavy weight boxer – just like Monday night, he was more concerned with arguing with the defenders and the ref, and took another booking – this is not good enough.

As for Stevie -where the hell was he when Torres was lambasting the opposition – Nowhere. It was down to Jamie to pull Torres away. This is so out of character for Stevie – a sign of the massive problems at our club.

I fear sharp wake up call and not one we will enjoy

  4. Lets look at it like this: now we’ll get rid of all the supporters that follow Liverpool only because they are winning….. The ones that are left are the true supporters. I’d still be a fan and watch all the matches even if they are relegated…. Christ, I even have the liverbird tattooed on my leg. I love the club, iIlove the fans, I love the feeling of the club and the soul of the club. Rafa should stay, maybe not cause I Think he is the 100% right man for the job, but because we do not leave anyone behind. I love him for 2005. I love him cause he cares, and breathes for Liverpool. We can not throw him out in case we can find someone better. There is noone else for us. There is noone else better than a man that truly loves Liverpool, and I think he does…..

  5. Rafa needs to rid his stubbornness in formation. It isn’t working. As I said in another post I like the guy but business is business. Gerrard is no longer the floating striker we saw last year which is having an affect on the attack. He is confined to the midfield.

It took Rafa till Jan/Feb of last season to finally play him in that role which EVERYONE was saying. Then LFC went on that tear until that unfortunate 4-4 Arsenal match.

I feel it should be either a:
    3-2-3-1-1 or a 3-4-1-2

He’s played a 4-5-1 all season and well, it’s not working. Is 7 months too short for anyone to see this?

  6. Keep the faith people.

We should beat Lille to go through.

We still have a great chance of CL football next season.

    We have a great manager.

We have some truly world-class players.

    Great fans.

    Great stadium.

We are supporters of one of the biggest clubs in the world. Let’s keep our collective chins up :)

  7. im a wreck hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  8. Lille were better and so we lost..simple..a sandy pitch, a few talented in-form players did the trick..The Reds were better than at the DW stadium and may be didn’t deserve to lose..but dipping heads and loss of form led to the downfall…
This attitude never makes a winner..!! Where was Kuyt playing ??? Hope he does well in the world cup and then can be sold off, as he has no suitors now..Kuyt works hard..but not hard to see his form is dipping..if not vanishing..

  9. To chris: wasnt stevie a floating striker vs lille? And still crap? I know the responsibility lies w rafa, but i Think the players need to stop feeling sorry for themselves and Get their shit together. If they did like rafa told them to do, they’d win most matches. Like they used to…..
