Please don’t go Pepe

Posted by

Thanks to @ade_lfc for sending this video of some of Pepe Reina’s greatest saves.

We can’t afford to lose Reina, he is the best there is and deep down he is a true Red. The news media is buzzing on the prospect of Liverpool losing one of the best keepers we ever had, we simply can’t allow this to happen.

The reason why Pepe hinted that he might leave is not clear however there have been plenty of rumours going around on how Pepe has ‘Fallen out’ with Roy Hodgson and might be frustrated with the current situation.

Pepe Reina is not only our keeper but he is also the heartbeat of the squad.

To Pepe: Remember that managers come and go but true supporters don’t, we are with you.

  1. Which Liverpool supporter isn’t frustrated with the current situation? I don’t know any. Not playing well consistently and/or at the top of the League is very frustrating for a fan of the best football club in the world or indeed for anyone connected with the club.

If Pepe wants out then we should deal with that in a manner that’s best for the club, if he does not want out then we should deal with that in a manner that’s best for the club.

If he does want out, hopefully Brad Jones will recover and be able to fill his gloves, if not, then perhaps Shay Given who is reportedly wanting to leave Man City could cover.

I’d prefer Pepe to stay of course.

  2. SAVE Pepe… SACK Roy… Plain and simple equation… There is no way we can afford to lose the best keeper around and especially cant afford to let him go to a rival Premier League club.. NESV says their strategy is to Buy young and build… So get rid of the OLD thinking and OLD style manager ROY… his thoughts and LACK of vision is hindering this club so much right now.

    SAVE PEPE… SACK ROY…

  3. Hello

Yes it came out that Pepe did state that he would consider his position but the Mirror has gone one step further and said that Pepe has now stated he actually does want to leave. I think that the Mirror have reported that to sell papers and to create a stink, remember they where the ones behind Rafas witch hunt and they can not be trusted.

How exactly has the Mirror gained this information? that is the question because it stinks of misscheif making and Bull S.

    ..

    SAVE PEPE… SACK ROY…

    YNWA”

Do you even know what “YNWA” means? The irony is delicious.

YNWA-unless-you’re-a-Liverpool-manager-named-Hodgson is what you mean I think.

  5. I don’t think anyone would want to see him leave but if he does we just have to deal with it, I’d like to think that if the scum were interested we’d treat the situation exactly how they dealt with Heinze. My only fear would be that it could start a mass exodus as he’d obviously be leaving for personal gain.

  6. Couldn’t agree with Daz more. It sounds like a paper selling twist on Pepe’s words from earlier in the week, though Antoine never reports trouble unless there’s some truth to it.

I can only hope that he stays, as he truly is a top “kwality” keeper.

Keep up the good work Antoine, your fingers are always on the pulse when it comes our beloved club.

  7. Yet another rumour started by The Mirror – I can’t stand that paper OR its reporters it is the most pro-manc paper there is. There’s no official sources (or sources I’d put my trust in) saying this yet so hang tight all

  8. Reina implied that he thought Benitez should still be manager. Its not surprising that the Spanish and South American contingent should be uncertain about the future as Benitez attracted them. That was the danger of appointing an English manager. Its possible Roy has made the situation worse with the defensive training regime.

Its hard to attract and keep top players without the champions league. Its even harder without a top name manager like Benitez. If Reina and Torres leave it becomes next to impossible to attract quality players unless you pay them over the odds which the new regieme will not do.
We need to keep the foreign players happy and we must finish in the top 4. After all despite Man City’s money they have still not got it together yet.

  9. “…Pepe hinted that he might leave…”

If I were to take a boat load of depressants and squint my eyes, I could have read/thought he hinted that, as it is, I don’t and I think that to smear Pepé, a consummate professional, as such does him a great disservice.

  10. I just want to say to all these Roy haters will ye please give it a”F”in rest Jesus the man is only a handfull of games into his time at Liverpool we have always had a proud tradition of stickin by our manager and that should never change. I don’t believe pepe wants to leave one bit that man is Liverpool through and through and like everyone who cares about liverpool f.c he jus wants to see us push on and achieve the best the club can do, who doesn’t it is what us as supporters and pepe as a player want from our great and illustrious club, so can we just stick by our Gaffer and give him a fair crack at the whip

  11. Good keepers come and go too. I think you know that as well as anyone, Aintoine. The established players need to show their mettle- not cry off whin it gets a bit tough. Reina is great but the LFC way is that the manager calls the shots. There’s a complete lack of support for Hodgson and I hope he proves his critics wrong. He hasnt inherited a title callenging squad so the guy needs a bit of time and patience. The players should leave their talking to the pitch.
Seamus, I agree with you. Some ‘fans’ have been ott. Rafa’s not here anymore. People need to get on with things. Would folk have behaved like this to KD if he had got the manager’s post?

  12. Who said Pepé has ‘Fallen out’ with Roy Hodgson, Antoine?

    (Some bloke on a muck-spreader I bet)

If you’re not supporting the team including the manager Antoine, your with the enemy. And by supporting, I mean, amongst other things, by not spreading seemingly malicious rumours about our beloved LFC.

    1. awbMaven: Are you playing shoot the messenger again? All I said what 100,000 people had said before me.

I guess you are the only Liverpool fan in the world then, the rest of us are the enemy.

  13. OK Antoine, misfire by me – apols. I’ve just read too many anti-our-manager posts lately.

If anything goes wrong, it’s apparently Hodgson’s fault; if anything goes right, it’s despite Hodgson. It’s annoying and I took it out on you, apols again.
