Jordan Henderson was really happy with the performance of England yesterday, especially Raheem Sterling – who was the Man of the Match – received a lot of love. The 19-year-old starred in England’s victory over Denmark at Wembley. The Liverpool winger was making his second England appearance and advanced his claims for a place in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad as he walked away with the Man of the Match award.
“Raheem has been fantastic for us at Liverpool and he was again tonight,” Henderson told the ECHO.
“He was really positive and wanted to get on the ball all the time and get at players.
“Nothing fazes Raheem. He was outstanding and hopefully he can continue playing like that between now and the end of the season.”
With Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge, Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson all starting, it was the first time for 37 years that Liverpool have provided five members of an England side.
