Jordan Henderson wants to start scoring more goals for Liverpool, after netting against Leicester…
Jordan Henderson has insisted that he will start scoring more goals for Liverpool, after finding the net against Leicester City during Tuesday’s 3-1 win.
Raheem Sterling’s superb back-heel set the midfielder up for only his third goal of the season against the Foxes, earning the Reds a second consecutive Premier League victory.
The midfielder also netted in the Champions League draw against Ludogorets last week, and while he pointed out that team success would always be most important, he explained that he was hopeful of adding to his goal tally.
It’s always nice to get on the scoresheet, but the most important thing – as I always say – is winning games,” he told Liverpool’s official website after the Leicester game.
“It doesn’t matter who scores as long as we’re winning. But, from a personal point of view, it is nice to get on the scoresheet and hopefully I can contribute more for the team.
“When you come to Leicester they are going to make it difficult for us as a team, so the most important thing is that you win your individual battle and collectively as a team you have got to work as hard as you possibly can.
“Then, with the quality we have got in the final third, go and hurt them when we got the opportunity. I thought it was a good performance, especially in the second half.”
