Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has discussed his future, and to be fair, it seems like he’d be happy to play pretty much anywhere!
“Between England and Spain, I don’t have a preference,” the French hitman said when asked about his next destination…
We, along with Arsenal, have been most heavily linked to the 23-year-old, who would be an absolutely terrific Anfield addition.
Already this term in Ligue 1, Lacazette has notched 17 goals in just 19 appearances, which means only Cristiano Ronaldo has notched more league goals in Europe so far.
However, it appears that the striker’s favoured destination is eventually Barcelona, and he seems similarly excited about links to PSG, too…
“I dreamt about Barca when I was little, but once you grow up you know you cannot be on just one club,” he said.
“I will not be leaving for the sake of it, I have medium and long term aims, after that we will see what is best for me.
“PSG? We will see, it is hard the answer that now.
“To play with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and Lucas (Moura), I cannot say that I cannot see myself in this attack but it would more likely be a departure abroad. Afterwards, you never know what might happen.”
Due to his pace and expert finishing ability, Lacazette would be a simply wonderful Anfield addition, but in reality, we really should have tried to sign him in the summer instead.
Now, his transfer fee will likely be enormous, as will the competition for his signature.
With Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems though, it’s something we should perhaps still consider anyway…
