We came from behind on Saturday night, beating Crystal Palace 2-1, with the Belgian stopper one of the star performers with several important saves – particularly in the first-half.

The 26-year-old’s superb stop from Dwight Gayle mid-way through the first period prevented Alan Pardew’s side taking a 2-0 lead, after Frazier Campbell had scored the opener.

Goals from Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana then turned the game around in the second-half, as we scored twice within 15 minutes of the restart and went onto control the remainder of the match.

Mignolet has been in fine form since returning to Brendan Rodgers’ side for the Boxing Day game against Burnley, after Brad Jones had limped off with an injury.

The keeper has conceded just 10 goals in his last 14 appearances, a run which has also included an impressive six clean-sheets.

“[Team spirit] is amazing at the moment,” Mignolet told the club’s website.

“Everybody is fighting for each other and doing their jobs individually. It’s always nice to get a victory as a team, that’s what you want.

“The spirit is high and we have to build on that and keep doing the things we’re doing at the moment. There’s another game and we have to look forward to that one.

“We started the game slowly and went behind, but everybody showed a lot of character to fight back and we got through to the next round.

“That’s what we wanted, that’s why we came here. We have to build on that. Everybody is pleased in the dressing room.

“If you compare the last time we came here and today’s game, we are very pleased with the victory and that we are still in the FA Cup.”
