The 32-year-old was taking part in a game of head tennis with some of his teammates, when the ball looped up into the air slightly behind the stopper. He took the opportunity to smash an acrobatic overhead kick, and subsequently win the point for his team.

Reina is currently the number two behind Manuel Neuer at the German side – that could win the Bundesliga title on Sunday – but remains a legend at Anfield, after eight years of loyal service. Arguably his finest moment came when he saved three penalties in the 2006 FA Cup final against West Ham.

Amazingly, Reina’s effort comes just a couple of weeks after Mario Balotelli did something almost identical also during a training session.
