Adam Lallana ensured that Liverpool made the right start in their goal of giving Steven Gerrard the perfect send-off, by opening the scoring midway through the first-half during their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
The goal came after a couple minutes of pressure from Alan Pardew’s men. However, they were the makers of their own downfall.
A lazy pass across the Eagles’ defence allowed the winger to collect the ball 35 yards out, before running into the box, and lifting a neatly-taken effort into the far corner, and giving Wayne Hennessey no chance.
Steven Gerrard was unsurprisingly the first to congratulate the former Southampton man.
