The Reds have been handed a boost in their pursuit of rumoured transfer target Lucas Digne, whose agent has admitted that the player could be tempted into leaving Paris Saint Germain during the summer transfer window.

Digne, 21, has found chances hard to come by since moving to the French capital from Lille in 2013. He’s played just 29 league games thus far and despite PSG’s reluctance to sell, the Liverpool Echo believe that he could indeed depart.
The Echo believe that ourselves and Italian side Roma are among a host of European giants interested in the player, while comments from his agent – Mikkel Beck – have only increased speculation of a possible move.
Beck said: “There are strong chances that Digne moves this summer. Lucas has several clubs interested in him. I’m working with Lucas and his family to find the best solution.”
Realistically, Digne is unlikely to be among Brendan Rodgers’ top targets this summer – our need for a right-back and another striker is far more pressing – but the Northern Irishman would be foolish to pass up the opportunity to sign the French international should the opportunity present itself.
Alberto Moreno had a mixed first year at Anfield and would certainly benefit from some top class competition, something Digne would definitely provide. Jose Enrique has barely kicked a football over the last two years and with Glen Johnson also having gone, there’s currently little in the way of support for the Spaniard.
We’ll keep an eye on this one with interest.
