Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino will both play ‘some part’ in Sunday’s final pre-season friendly match against Swindon Town – according to reports in the Liverpool Echo.
The former Aston Villa and Hoffenheim stars are still waiting to make their respective debuts, having missed our Far East tour and the trip to Helskini on Saturday, but the Echo have confirmed that they will both play against our League One opponents on Sunday.

As the source states, Liverpool fans were beginning to fear that the duo would not be ready for the start of the new season, having missed our entire pre-season campaign thus far. However, they will both get their first run outs in the famous red tomorrow.
Despite Rodgers taking a 16-man squad to Finland to play HJK, it’s still likely to be a strong team that takes on Swindon, with the likes of Emre Can, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno also having remained at home.
Adam Bogdan, Kolo Toure, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Lazar Markovic are all tipped to feature as well, with Brendan Rodgers taking charge of the game after flying back this evening.
