The Liverpool squad looked in high spirits on Saturday afternoon as they trained in preparation for Monday night’s game against Bournemouth at Anfield – our first home match of the new season.
Roberto Firmino (pictured) wore a beaming smile throughout, as he likely closes in on a first competitive start since his summer move from Hoffenheim. The Brazilian’s arrival was initially delayed due to his participation in the Copa America but his promising cameo against Stoke City on Sunday was hopefully a sign of things to come.
As you can see in the remaining images (below), many of the Liverpool players wore similar expressions to their new teammate, including Lucas Leiva and Mamadou Sakho – both of whom have been linked with transfers this week.

Lucas has been linked with Juventus (via Daily Express) and Sakho has been the subject of a loan bit from Roma (via The Telegraph), since both players were left out of Brendan Rodgers’ squad at the Britannia Stadium, but neither were showing any signs of frustration here.
Alberto Moreno and Lazar Markovic, who also didn’t play in our first game, were pictured sharing a joke, as was the boss, who was seen chatting animatedly with Nathaniel Clyne and Jordon Ibe.
