Two injured centre-backs could return for Liverpool v Arsenal

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could have two centre-backs to call upon for Liverpool against Arsenal, having previously feared that he’d have zero.

Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez remain unavailable, but the Telegraph report Kolo Toure is ‘expected to be fit’, while Mamadou Sakho will undergo a late fitness test.

If he passes it, expect him to start alongside the Ivorian against the Premier League leaders on Wednesday.

Interestingly, Toure hasn’t lost a game in which he’s started so far this term, but the Anfield test v Arsenal will be the trickiest yet.

The Gunners are two points clear of Leicester City in first place, 12 ahead of Liverpool. If we secure a victory, as we often have under Klopp against ‘better’ opposition, we’d go nine points behind – not bad considering how few goals we’ve scored this term and how many disappointments we’ve had.

Elsewhere injury wise, Liverpool’s two best attackers Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho are not near a return, which will make our goalscoring chances all the more difficult.
