Liverpool are raiding Bayern Munich for two key members of their backroom staff ahead of next season, the Guardian reports.

Andreas Kornmayer had already been signed as a fitness coach from the Bundesliga champions, but now nutritionist Mona Nemmer will head to Merseyside as well to be part of the conditioning team for the 2016/17 campaign.

Nemmer joined Bayern in 2013 with a brilliant reputation having worked for Joachim Lowe and the German national team previously.

Last summer Liverpool were raiding the lower leagues to acquire Sean O’Driscoll as backroom staff, but now we’re shopping at Bayern – showing both the lure and ambition of Jurgen Klopp in equal measure.

Andy Hunter in the Guardian writes that Klopp is planning the most intense pre-season camp in Liverpool’s history, looking to maximise base fitness and protect against the possibility of the kind of injury crisis which devastated his early months.

Klopp thinks that Kornmayer and Nemmer will play a large role in this; desperate to get his squad physically honed and conditioned for the relentless pressing he demands during matches.
