Liverpool invite offers for Jordon Ibe; two potential destinations named

Liverpool are happy to sell talented young winger Jordon Ibe this summer, according to Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph.

He claims that Southampton and Watford are interested in the 20-year-old, who fell down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order throughout the season.

At the start of the campaign under Brendan Rodgers, Ibe was actually in the starting XI, but a series of poor performances saw him dropped, and the incoming manager only found proper minutes for the Englishman in Cup competitions.

Ibe’s career has stagnated rather than developed at the rate we hoped it would, but to sell him already would be foolish.

Perhaps we should loan the youngster to a club such as Watford or Southampton, who will guarantee him Premier League minutes – in the hope that he can eventually return to Liverpool ready for first-team football.

It would be a crying shame if we sold someone of Ibe’s ability already. He’s still very, very young, and has perhaps been judged harshly by a fanbase too expectant of instant results.
