The club confirmed today that our friendly against Barcelona in August has sold out (via official site).
The match, which forms part of the International Champions Cup, is due to be played on Saturday 6th August at Wembley; exactly one week before the 2016/17 Premier League season kicks off.
It’s great that the game will be a sellout, but we have to question how intense it will be giving its timing. How many first teamers are likely to start?
Barcelona are the reigning Spanish champions after winning La Liga on the final day. The game could also see the return of Luis Suarez, depending how Uruguay perform in their various international tournaments this summer.
It will be the last leg of our ICC tour – we also face AC Milan and Chelsea in the United States in late-July.
