Liverpool set to activate Man United target’s €8.5m release clause (Rumour)

Luis Nani has really begun to resurrect his career since leaving Manchester United, and after impressing at the Euro 2016 Championships he’s apparently on Jurgen Klopp’s radar, as reported by Turkish outlet Fanatik (via Turkish Football).

Currently plying his trade with Fenerbahce, the player has apparently fallen out with the head coach and could potentially be looking towards the exit. The report suggests we’re willing to activate his €8.5m release clause in order to bring him to Anfield, although we’re facing competition from other clubs.

The 29-year-old has impressed at the Euros despite Portugal’s struggles, scoring twice as his side struggled over the line and into the last 16 in third place. The fact that both Hungary and Iceland finished above them says a lot, although that doesn’t necessarily take away from the individual performances of the players.

Nani has been heavily linked with a return to Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho apparently willing to bring him back to Old Trafford (via DHA). He may still hold a grudge though, so if we are looking to sign him we could steal a march on Mourinho.

It’s questionable whether Klopp really is a fan of the tricky winger, but would he be a good signing if we were to land him this summer?
