Sadio Mane is seemingly edging closer to a a Liverpool switch, with the latest hint that he’s set to be a Red next season being that Southampton have already lined up his replacement. The Saints are apparently set to complete an £11m move for Norwich’s Nathan Redmond, with the 22-year-old set to undergo a medical this weekend, as reported by the Mirror.
The deal to sign Redmond was apparently only delayed due to the player being on holiday, but now that he’s returned the deal is on the verge of completion.
While Southampton signing Redmond doesn’t necessarily guarantee we’ll get Mane, it does suggest that they are preparing for life without the Senegalese winger. Reports suggest that Mane to Liverpool is now “a matter of when, not if”, so once Redmond makes the switch to Southampton you’d expect things to really get going.

Southampton have long been a selling club, with a number of their best stars making the switch to Liverpool. They have plenty of experience with replacing their players when necessary, and that’s exactly what the signing of Redmond looks like.
Mane looks almost certain to make a £30m move to Liverpool now (via the BBC), but we obviously can’t count our chickens just yet. Deals can fall through even at the last minute, but everyone seems pretty confident that this one is going to go through.
