Danny Ings believes Nathan Redmond will be a great signing for Southampton, with the Liverpool striker congratulating the former Norwich City man on his £11m move to St Mary’s (via the BBC).
Redmond had his medical this past Saturday afternoon, completing his move to Southampton from newly relegated Norwich. He’s a player Ings knows well from their time in the England U21s together, and the former Burnley man believes Southampton have signed a fantastic player.

As it’s been stated numerous times over the past few days, Redmond is seen as a replacement for Sadio Mane – who looks set for a £30m Anfield switch (via the Mirror).
Now that Redmond’s switch to Southampton is over the line we can expect the Mane news to really pick up. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Senegalese international signed before the end of the Euros, as obviously he has no involvement.

It was believed that Southampton’s transfer business may be put on hold until they found a new manager – with Ronald Koeman now with Everton – but the acquisition of Redmond shows that’s not the case.
