Sadio Mane has completed his medical and looks to be as good as a Liverpool player already, and it appears as though we already know what number he’ll be wearing next season too (via the Mirror).
The Senegalese international exited after his medical with a pair of Liverpool training shorts bearing the No.29, suggesting not only that he’d be wearing that number next season, but also that he was potentially involved in a photo shoot of some kind. Why else would he be in a proper training kit?

We’ll know for sure once the player is officially unveiled, which you’d expect to be in the next couple of days assuming everything runs smoothly. As the report suggests, the fee will be in the region of £30m, and will be our third most expensive signing to date.
There may well be a reason why Mane wants to wear the 29, as players often pick numbers with real significance. Fabio Borini was the last player to wear the No.29, with the Italian picking it due to it being his birthday.
