Divock Origi and Emre Can are major doubts for trip to Spurs

Divock Origi and Emre Can could both miss this weekend’s vital clash with Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Both players left the pitch injured in our 5-0 win over Burton on Tuesday, and Klopp has now suggested they might not make it back in time for the trip to London.

Apparently, Can suffered an ankle injury while Origi was suffering with serious cramping.

“We need to wait a little bit. With Emre there is nothing really serious in the ankle, but it is his ankle where he had a few problems in the past,” said Klopp (via Echo).

“It should not be long, but maybe not for the Tottenham game.

“It’s the same with Divock, it’s not serious. There are different levels of cramp.”

We play Spurs in the early kick-off on Saturday. They will already be more rested than us as they were given a bye in the last round of the League Cup – thus making this news all the more concerning.

Origi has suffered with injuries ever since being clobbered by Funes Mori in last season’s Merseyside derby at Anfield. Can was given an extended break after the Euros and looked set to play this weekend after impressing in the first half at Burton, but this news might have scuppered those plans.
