Liverpool have been handed a trip to Championship outfit Derby County in the Third Round of the League Cup. (BBC)
The game will be played in week commencing 19th September. That means we’ll play the fixture between our trip to Chelsea and the visit of Hull City.
It also means our remarkable series of away games will continue – by the time we play Derby we’ll have played six of our first seven games away from home.
Derby are currently 16th in the Championship. They’ve had a mixed start to the new season, drawing with Brighton and Aston Villa, beating Preston, but losing to Barnsley.

They beat Grimsby 1-0 in the First Round of this competition, before needed penalties to knock out Carlisle in the Second Round on Tuesday night.
Coincidentally, they play they side we beat – Burton Albion – this weekend in the league.
