Jordan Henderson could be named England captain tomorrow as rumours gather pace

It’s looking like our club captain, Jordan Henderson, could be named England captain tomorrow.

It would arguably be a surprise appointment, with many England fans divided about whether or not he should even be in the squad.

Man Utd’s Wayne Rooney is the current captain, but despite being named in Big Sam’s first squad, it’s unclear whether he has a long-term starting role under the former Sunderland boss.

Henderson was named Liverpool captain at the start of last season after Steven Gerrard departed to the LA Galaxy.

It’s not really clear where these rumours started – but they’ve been driving the internet into overdrive.

And ultimately, if Rooney is to be cast aside? Who else in the England squad is captain material?
