Has the curse of the international break struck again, in the cruelest manner possible?

But last night, the 24-year-old limped off for Senegal against Namibia in his country’s 2-0 AFCON qualifying win.

This is more annoying as Senegal have already qualified for the January tournament, but decided to field a strong side anyway.

Mane received a knock and left the field after 68 minutes, but as of yet, there’s no word as to whether the injury was serious or if the withdrawal was precautionary. We really hope it’s the latter and will keep you updated.

With Liverpool not playing until Saturday, there’s a chance he’ll be able to return to Melwood and get treatment in time for the visit of Premier League champions Leicester.

Let’s just hope Mane is the only casualty of this loathsome break, and that his injury doesn’t keep him out for any length of time.
