Xabi Alonso didn’t score many goals for Liverpool, but when he did, they were usually beautiful.
When he left for Real Madrid in 2009, his goals entirely dried up – deployed right at the base of midfield; encouraged to pass over shooting – every time.
But now with Bayern Munich, he’s been given licence to try his luck from range, and it’s certainly bolstering his career highlight reel!
