Liverpool fans, there’s very good news on Firmino & Lallana’s injuries

Liverpool are set to be without Coutinho for a considerable amount of time, but thankfully, we’re likely to see two of our other excellent attackers much sooner…

The Guardian reports that Adam Lallana’s groin strain is almost healed and that he could actually play against Bournemouth next Sunday, having missed the past two Premier League matches after picking up an injury for England on international duty.

While Coutinho’s injury was devastating and heavily reported on Saturday, Roberto Firmino was also substituted after a heavy challenge, but his calf issue is not thought to be serious and Liverpool haven’t booked him in for a scan. He too should also be ok for the trip to the Cherries in six days’ time.

Less positively, Daniel Sturridge isn’t training today and is still on the sidelines with a calf issue, meaning at the time of writing, Sadio Mane and Divock Origi are the only fit, senior attackers.

As a result, the likes of Ovie Ejaria and Ben Woodburn are likely to play in the EFL Cup tie with Leeds United on Tuesday, with Klopp keen on getting his first-choice offence fit again.
