Would you take Mesut Ozil at Liverpool, Reds, as a potential Coutinho replacement option?
It doesn’t appear many of you would!
The question was raised on Twitter recently and the response was enormous…

What’s really happening with Klopp, Coutinho & FSG – Joyce
Liverpool’s Brazilian is likely to leave, while Arsenal’s German is out of contract in the summer, meaning he could be available on a Bosman at the end of the season or a cheap deal this January.
There’s no word Liverpool are even interested, with his wages astronomical and many suggesting his style wouldn’t suit Klopp’s.
We actually don’t think the German is lazy, as is often claimed, and that he would fit into a Klopp side well.
But most Reds disagree!
Idea.. Mesut Ozil to replace Phil? Could get him for (comparative) peanuts and although I prefer Phil, he’s still a serious player. Klopp could give him a new lease of life. Would probably take Sanchez too!

No. Absolutely not. Never good enough. Doesn’t suit us. No

Problem with ozil is that when Phil plays the deeper role behind the front 3 he still tracks back, ozil is lazy in that way so probably won’t fit our style.

I wouldn’t ring Ozil if I was short for 5aside!! Sanchez different story though 👌

Not fit to lace Cou’s boots

Özil has about 1 outstanding game per season. The rest of the time he’s mediocre, lazy and has a “Imma just stand here and sulk”-attitude. No thank you.

Ozil is too lazy. Would never fit Klopps style. Coutinho far better.

I wouldn’t let Ozil nowhere near our squad. High tempo and high energy football is our speciality, Ozil can’t do either of those. Square pegs in round holes if he came. Sanchez would suit us better but I can’t see that happening.

Don’t want Ozil. Doesn’t cope well with adversity and wouldn’t work hard enough in the high press.
— Rob Atkins (@robatkins1978) January 3, 2018
I don’t see the problem. He’s was lazy but thats under Wenger. No chance he’d do that with the whole team pressing around him & with Klopp having the temper he has 😁. He’s still world class & he’d fit well deeper imo

Excellent shout, always felt that Klopp’s high press system would suit players like Ozil very well. Offering arsenal between £20-25mil could maybe tempt them to sell now. But would FSG realistically meet his wage demands of somewhere between 250-325k per week reportedly?
— mark hanna (@Golly_Whiz) January 2, 2018
Fsg would never pay there wages
